I saw an explosion card in an edition of Creativity magazine and decided to make it earlier in the year for my brother’s 40th birthday.
Since then I have made quite a few explosion cards and everybody seems to love them.
Here’s my latest makes:-
Thought I’d post a selection of my cards I’ve recently made.
August and September have been a busy time for birthdays in my family so I’ve been very busy making cards. On top of that, August and September appear to be busy times for everyone else for cards too as I’ve had a good amount of orders from family and friends who have seen my Facebook page (Dawn’s Handmade Cards and Gifts).
Whilst browsing through my magazines I came across this card which looked relatively easy to make.
The blue spotty paper is actually just some cheap wrapping paper but I think it looks quite effective.
I tried to google images of the animals but nothing seemed right so I found similar cards cropped down the images and just cut them out – bingo!!!
For my brother’s 40th birthday I decided to make an explosion card which incorporated some old photos and some facts about the key years in his life.
This was the second attempt – the first seemed to dark. The papers I’d used were just not right so I scrapped it and started again with some lighter and brighter papers.
I was really pleased with the end results. I used images of films, songs and TV from the various years which I think looks really cool.
It’s a work colleagues 40th Birthday and I was tasked with organising the collection and buying the gifts. With the small amount of money I had left over I decided to buy a few sweets of 1975 – the year she was born.
I made a little retro gift tag – my first attempt at a bit of papercraft.
Then I popped all the sweets into a bit of cellophane, tied it with a ribbon and Bob’s Your Uncle – a cute little gift for £1.50
