I made this card for my boss who just loves his coffee.
Dawn’s Handmade Cards & Gifts
One of my first orders when I set up this Facebook page was for 20 Wedding Thank You Cards. The spec was Ivory and Purple colours and butterflies. I must admit I was quite nervous making something which was so important and wanted it to be as perfect as I could possibly make it, I was worried my cards wouldn’t be good enough. After quite a few trips to Hobbycraft, The Range and Boyes trying to match purple card with purple ribbon and an ever increasing array of “not quite rights”, I finally got something that was pretty much spot on and had to deal with the fact that I was never going to get it absolutely perfectly matched. Then I set to work making the cards. And I was absolutely over the moon with how they turned out. Although not part of the spec I also decided to make a special little box to hold the cards – however, the box did get a bit damaged in transit, the cards inside arrived safe and sound. Feedback was fantastic which I was very relieved at and also very happy with. A very special touch to finish off that very special occasion.
I wasn’t able to post before now as they have just been received by the wedding guests.

I saw an explosion card in an edition of Creativity magazine and decided to make it earlier in the year for my brother’s 40th birthday.
Since then I have made quite a few explosion cards and everybody seems to love them.
Here’s my latest makes:-
Been very busy making cards, cards, and more cards. And a bit of crochet now and again.
Here’s another selection of my handy work. Can’t believe I’ve only been doing this since the New Year – feel like I’ve done so much and learnt so much. My creations have come on in leaps and bounds – when I look back at my first makes I can’t believe how basic they look.
Well the school holidays are almost over so I thought I best make a start on some Christmas cards.
All my own creations, surprisingly without any help from Pinterest 🙂
A friend of mine mentioned during tea and cake one Saturday morning that she was having trouble finding a card for her brothers wedding, which was a same-sex marriage. She said she could only find one in the card shop which was going to cost £8. At that point I told her not to bother and I would make her one – if it was so hard to find a card then chance were most people at the wedding would be giving her brother the same cards.
At least a home made card would be unique and nobody would have the same card. So I set to work – she told me she would like silver, tuxedoes, wedding rings and champagne glasses included.
All the things she wanted were included but to make it a little more personalised I added the grooms’ names and also the date of the wedding.
I think it’s something they are going to cherish forever – and it is definitely a one-off.
Please feel free to take a look at my Facebook page and like and share – I only need a few more likes to hit the magical 100. Thanks.

I saw this idea on Pinterest and absolutely loved the phrase to had to incorporate it into a card somehow. So when my sister asked me to make a card for a wedding vow renewal she was attending I knew exactly what had to be done.
I was quite chuffed with how the card turned out and I’m sure that my paper cutting will just keep getting better and better the more I practise.
